    Pusat Pekerjaan Brunei

    It is an initiative under the Pusat Pekerjaan Brunei (PPB), Prime Minister’s Office, supported by the Ministry of Finance and Economy and the Brunei Darussalam Institute of Certified Public Accountants (BICPA). It provides funding assistance to local jobseekers and local employees including iReady Apprentices in the private sector who meets the program requirements to acquire professional certification in accounting and finance specifically in Foundation in Accountancy (FIA), Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

    Aspires graduates desiring to further their qualification to ACCA as well as to further their careers in the field of accountancy by obtaining a qualification awarded by ACCA, a globally recognised professional accountancy body.

    - The Courses are open to

    LOCALS

    • Bachelor Degree / HND / TVET in relevant field, finance and accounting will be given priority
    • GCE ‘A’ Level in accounting,
    • 5 ‘O’ Levels with at least credit C in Mathematics and English

    LOCALS WITH RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCES

    • Locals who have successfully secured employment or i-Ready apprenticeships at the participating private companies such as Registered Audit and Accounting firms, Banks, Financial Institutions, etc.

    FUNDING ASSISTANCE

    • Tuition Fees (inclusive of exemption fees if any)
    • BICPA Membership Registration Fee
    • BICPA Annual Membership Fee
    • BICPA Academy and ACCA UK Registration Fees
    • ACCA UK Annual Subscription Fee
    • Examination Fees (inclusive of Exam Re-sit funding)
    • CAT Certification Fee
    • Ethics and Professional Skills Module (EPSM) Fee
    • Transportation Allowance of BND58.00 per month (according to the course duration)

    •Subsistence allowance will be given and adjusted according to the level of Brunei
    Darussalam Qualification Framework (BDQF) – this is only applicable
    to Jobseekers only

    Being eligible for the courses

    Jobseekers

    • Age 18 - 45 years old

    • Registered with JobCentre Brunei (JCB)

    • Completed the Basic Accounting Workshop (BAW) conducted by BICPA prior to enrollment for FIA and CAT candidates

    Local Employees / iReady in the private sectors

    • Age 18 - 45 years old 

    • Full time Employees / i-Ready Apprentice 

    • Completed the Basic Accounting Workshop (BAW) conducted by BICPA prior to enrollment for FIA and CAT candidates 

    • Registered & Contributing to Skim Persaraan Kebangsaan (SPK) 

    • Support Letter from Employers

    • Relevant work experience in relevant field, accounting and finance

    Candidate's responsibility

    1. Candidates who will join the program must sign an agreement form
    with the Government
    2. Candidates are required to sit for Progress Tests and Mock Exams
    as scheduled in the learning plan
    3. Local employees and i-Ready apprentices in private sector must
    obtain Support Letter from the host organization.
    4. Candidates are required to obtain a mentor according to the criteria
    set by ACCA to meet the mentorship requirements set for CAT and
    ACCA.
    5. Candidates are required to complete the course applied with an
    attendance rate that must exceed 85%
    6. Candidates are required to sit for all the examinations within the
    specified period
    7. Candidates are required to prepare and submit their study and
    exam plans according to the study period set by BICPA Academy.
    8. Candidates must give full commitment in completing the training
    program successfully
    9. Candidates are responsible for informing PPB if
    the participant successfully completes the course including passing all
    exams and fulfilling the work experience requirements.
    10. Candidates are required to comply with the rules and regulations set
    by PPB.

    Withdrawals

    • Awarded candidates who wish to withdraw from the programme
    must seek permission to obtain permission from PPB
    prior to withdrawal. If they are found to have withdrawn without
    permission, actions will be taken including being required to
    reimburse the Government for all the costs that were funded for
    the programme.

    • Candidates are not allowed to withdraw from the programme
    before receive permission from PPB.

    • If candidates are found to have withdrawn without PPB
    permission, actions will be taken including being required to
    reimburse the Government for all the costs that have funded for the
    course and the candidate will not be considered for SPIN
    applications in the future.

    Postponement

    • Candidates are not allowed to defer their modules and exams
    before obtaining permission from PPB.
    How to obtain permission:
    • Application letter for the postponement of the course along
    with the reasons for postponement.
    • Permission to postpone a course from PPB
    and training institutions.

    Reimbursement to the government

    Awarded candidates under this programme are required to reimburse
    the Government for all the costs that have funded for the course
    including but not limited to:
    • Withdrawn from the course without obtaining permission from PPB
    • Local employees or i-Ready Apprentices that resign from employing
    company after being awarded without permission from PPB
    • Did not attend the course without permission & reasonable excuse
    • Changes in employment status without informing the PPB

    Failure in studies or repeating a subject

    • Candidates who failed are required to report to PPB no later than three (3) days after receiving the failed
    result
    • If candidates are required to repeat the exam paper (re-sit) under
    the program, they must obtain permission from PPB
    • Fees for repeating the examination paper (re-sit) will be borne by
    the Government where the maximum number of re-sits are allocated
    depending to the level of modules. However, any introductory
    modules will not be funded by the Government.
    • Payment for the examination for any failed subjects after the
    maximum number shall be borne by the candidates where the
    candidates are advised to complete their studies until they obtain a
    professional certificate.
