An in-service training programme designed to upskill / reskill local employees from private companies under the Energy Industry in the 4 skill domains (Marking-Fitting, Scaffolding, Rigging and Blasting-Painting.
This programme is conducted by Lifelong Learning Centre (L3C) under the Manpower Industry Steering Committee (MISC) Working Group for Energy (MISC-WG Energy) Industry Skill Certificate (ISC) in collaboration with Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC) as the main sponsors and Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) as the awarding organisation for the programme.
Trainees will undergo Technical English Bridging Course Level 2 prior to skill training at respective RTO (Registered Training Organisation) and throughout OJT (On-Job-Training as described below.
ISC – Industry Skills Certificate

This course is designed to instill self-confidence, effectively develop communication skills and fluency in speaking English among the trainees who are undergoing a technical programme at L3C, specifically in the 4 skills domains (marking-fitting, rigging, scaffolding & blasting-painting).

By the end of the course, trainees will be able to be more confident speakers of English overall, able to use language and have conversations related to their field. Have a better understanding of the tools and the skills to learn new words autonomously.

Trainees will spend 6 hours per day (30 per week) for 2 weeks, focusing on speaking (and all speaking sub-skills) and listening predominantly. After completing 2 weeks, trainees will study one lesson per week for a period of 10 weeks.
iLEAP is open to local employees with a minimum of 1 year working experience in the Energy industry.
The Technical English Bridging Course Level 2 and iLEAP will start on 15 August 2022 and 29 August 2022 respectively.
