June 15th, 2021 | Lifelong Learning Centre

In conjunction with World Environment Day, L³ Centre participated in’s ‘Green Protocol’ where a total of 2,000 trees are to be planted under the Ministry of Education.

On the 15th of June 2021, tree planting demonstrations and planting of 10 trees were held within the premise of Lifelong Learning Centre in collaboration with the Office of the Director General of Education as the ‘Green Protocol’ focal and Lifelong Learning Centre. The event was attended by senior officers, officers and staff members from various departments, division and centre under the purview of Ministry of Education.

The Green Protocol is one of the initiatives spearheaded by the government in promoting a sustainable lifestyle in efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the country, which is in line with the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy (BNCCP) of paving the way for the country to become a sustainable nation.

L³ Centre is proud to be a part of a great cause and looks forward to contributing as much as we can towards a greener future.

June 14th and 15th, 2021 | Lifelong Learning Centre

L³ Centre officers and staff members underwent a Financial Regulation workshop at Training Room 2, L3 Centre. The two-day workshop was organized by the Division of Administration and Finance, L3 Centre in collaboration with Professional Development Section under Human Resource Development and Administration Division, Department of Administration and Services, Ministry of Education.

The two-day workshop aimed to equip participants with knowledge on Brunei Government’s financial regulation and a range of practical real-life case studies and discussions on the implications of non-compliance. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to carry out tender and procurement processes in provision of supplies and services.

The workshop was led by Yang Mulia Dayang Erma Norliana binti Hj Mohaiman, Head of Revenue Arrears Unit, Financial Services and Supplies Division and Yang Mulia Rahman Ahmad bin Hj Ismail, Finance Officer of Department of Administration and Services, Ministry of Education.

May 11th, 2021 | Lifelong Learning Centre

Before we bid farewell to Ramadhan 1442H, L³ Centre held a Majlis Khatam Al-Quran on the 11th of May 2021. 
Present was the Guest of Honor and Acting Director of Lifelong Learning Centre, Yang Mulia Dr. Sheikh Lukman bin Sheikh Abdul Hamid. Also in attendance were the Yang Mulia Tuan Adna Shatriremie bin Hj A. Abdul Rahman, Head of Entrepreneurship Innovation Centre (EIC) and Yang Mulia Cikgu Sumardi bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Acting Assistant Director (Administration) of Lifelong Learning Centre, as well as the officers and staff members of L³ Centre and EIC.
The event was held to commemorate the end of Ramadhan and to celebrate the khatam Al-Quran of the officers and staff members.

May 5th, 2021 | Sekolah Rendah Nakhoda Abdul Rashid, Kpg Menunggol

On the 5th of May 2021 Lifelong Learning Centre, in collaboration with Sekolah Rendah Nahkoda Abdul Rashid, Kg Menunggol distributed the donations raised to 36 underpriviliged families at Kg. Menunggol.

The event was held in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan, where the families were gifted with food, beverages and basic necessities donated from the public.

During the event, principal of Sekolah Rendah Nahkoda Abdul Rashid, Kg Menunggol, Cg. Hj Md Suazmie bin Hj Zulkifli gave an opening speech welcoming the families to this special event.

Acting Assistant Director (Administration) of Lifelong Learning Centre, Yang Mulia Sumardi bin Haji Abdul Hamid was also in attendance to present the donations and to raise awareness of instilling a culture of lifelong learning among the students and families.

The event ended with a group photo session with the recipients of the donations.

Ramadhan is a time for reflection, self-improvement and increasing deeds of worship. We are humbled to have had the opportunity to give back to the community.

May 3rd, 2021 | Lifelong Learning Centre

A milestone for Lifelong Learning Centre (L³ Centre)

On the 3rd of May 2021, L³ Centre has welcomed EVYD Technology, a medical AI and big data company in Brunei as one of the first to sign a tenant agreement to occupy the centre’s training facilities.

Signing on behalf of L³ Centre was Acting Director of L³ Centre, Dr. Sheikh Lukman bin Sheikh Abdul Hamid and Acting Assistant Director (Administration), Sumardi bin Haji Abdul Hamid. Also in attendance were representatives from the Regulatory Division and the Programmes and Participation Division.

Representing EVYD Technology, was the CEO Chua Ming Ji. Established in 2020, the young company is known for its development of the BruHealth App.

L³ Centre would like to extend our warmest welcome and good wishes to EVYD Technology and we look forward to a long and beneficial partnership ahead.

April 12th, 2021 | Lifelong Learning Centre

In conjunction with Ramadhan 1442H, the annual distribution of Kurma Kurnia Peribadi from His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for all Lifelong Learning Centre (L³ Centre) officers and staff took place yesterday, 12 April 2021.

The distribution of dates was carried out by Acting Director of L³ Centre, Yang Mulia Dr. Sheikh Lukman bin Sheikh Abdul Hamid.

April 8th, 2021 | Tahlil & Bacaan Yaasin | Lifelong Learning Centre

As we are nearing the holy month of Ramadhan, L³ Centre held Majlis Bacaan Yasin and Tahlil on the 8th of April 2021. In attendance were the staff of the L³ Centre and the Entrepreneurship Innovation Centre (EIC)

During the event, the Acting Director of Lifelong Learning Centre, Yang Mulia Dr. Sheikh Lukman bin Sheikh Abdul Hamid gave a speech welcoming the staff and guests. In his speech, he reminded everyone not to take this year’s Ramadhan for granted and strive to make it better than previous year’s Ramadhan.

In addition to this, Assistant Guidance Counsellor, Yang Mulia Cikgu Abdul Mu’iid bin Hariel gave a tazkirah on “self-preparations before and during the month of Ramadhan” before taking a group photo.

April 1st, 2021 | Sharing session on supervisory skill | Lifelong Learning Centre

On the 1st of April 2021, Assistant Guidance Counselor of Lifelong Learning Centre; Cikgu Abdul Mu’iid bin Hariel, held a sharing session on Supervisory Skills.

The session aimed to develop managerial skills among the staff by educating them the different skills needed to be a successful supervisor. 

March 29th, 2021 | Financial Literacy Briefing | Lifelong Learning Centre

On the 29th of March 2021, Goodlife Financial Planning Sdn Bhd held a Financial Literacy Briefing for the i-ready apprentices of the Lifelong Learning Centre. The briefing was held by Founder of Principal Consultant of the Goodlife Financial Planning Sdn Bhd himself, Mr. Ang Kian Guan.

The Financial Literacy briefing aimed to educate the apprentices to understand and effectively use financial skills such as: budgeting, investing, credit management. Understanding these basic financial management skills will aid in achieving various life goals like retirement, education.   

March 24th, 2021 | In-House Training : Research Method | Lifelong Learning Centre

At Lifelong Learning Centre (L³ Centre), our staff are encouraged to continuously learn and grow by expanding their own knowledge and skillset. On the 24th of March 2021, In-House Training: Research Methods was held by Dr Sheikh Lukman Bin Sheikh Abdul Hamid, the Acting Director of L³ Centre himself.

With his extensive experience in research, the staff had the opportunity to learn the basics of carrying out different types of research, to understand different statistical tests and their application and develop research instruments for data collection methods in a systematic manner.

Feb 8th, 2021 | Lifelong Learning Centre

On the 6th of February 2021, Oiltown Safety Committee ( OSCo) held a site visit to the Lifelong Learning Centre to help improve the centre’s safety practices.

The non-government organization OSCo visited the centre to spread safety awareness and demonstrate the importance of safety practices in the industry field. It also aimed to assist L3 Centre in improving and providing recommendations on safety for their facilities and campus.  

Jan 30th, 2021 | Lifelong Learning Centre

On the 30th of January 2021, the Programme and Participation Division held a Career Talk on ‘Enrich your Career Development’.

Speakers of the career talk was, Assistant Guidance Counsellor; Abdul Mu’iid bin Hariel and guest speaker Edwin Lim; founder of Soapboxer Company. The activities included: Individual Personality Test, Career Personality Test, CV Writing Skills Workshop and Job Interview Skills Workshop.

Jan 21st, 2021 | V-Plaza Hotel, Kuala Belait

On the 21st of January 2021, The Manpower Industry Steering Committee (MISC) Working Group for Energy ( MISC WG Energy); a committee under the Manpower Planning and Employment Council ( MPEC),    in collaboration with Brunei Shell Petroleum Co.Sdn.Bhd ( BSP), organized an Energy industry Engagement day.  Held at V-Plaza Grand Hall, Kuala Belait.

The Industry Engagment Day aimed to update the Energy Industry and its business partners on the  MISC-WG Energy implementation plan, affecting the workforce development programmes with focus on competence development programmes, work placement with the industry and competence assessment. The Engagement Day was a continuation of the last two Industry Engagements; the Competence Framework Industry Engagement held in March 2020 and the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Market Engagement Day held in August last year.     

Invited speakers delivered presentations during the session to inform the audience on topics such as: the projected manpower demand in the Energy Industry and plans made by MISC Energy together with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Energy to address the increasing supply of skilled workers. Representing Lifelong Learning Centre was Assistant Director (Academic): Walter Chong Meng Siong.

Alongside Walter Chong Meng Siong, were representatives from the centre’s Regulatory Division. The division manned a booth to inform the public of the services and programmes offered.

Jan 11th, 2021 | Lifelong Learning Centre

As a newly established centre, L3 Centre welcomed 14 new apprentices.  The apprentices will be with the centre for 18 months, designated at various departments and divisions, such as: Administration and Finance, Programme and Participation Divison and Regulatory Division. 

The induction progamme aimed to familiarize the centre’s mission and vision to the apprentices and formally understand their role and responsibilities as a new member to the centre.
